My Favorite Hobby
Hobby means an activity which is pursued on extra time for enjoyment and relaxation. Since hobby is a work of diversion, everybody is likely that everybody has a hobby. When we get bored of our daily occupation, we turn to our hobby. Tastes and preferences differ from person to person. While some like gardening, others do reading books or stamp-collecting. Like majority of people, I also have my pastime and it is wildlife photography. Wildlife photography is undoubtedly a challenging form of photography. It is challenging in the sense that one has to face difficulties while going on forests. Despite having technical and craft skills, one may not be able to capture good pictures because some animals are difficult to reach at. Moreover one has to have good knowledge of behaviors of animal in order to get a perfect snap. But still I am not intimidated by all the difficulties because I believe there is no gain without pain. It is true that wildlife photography is strenuous and time consuming. Since I am still a student, I cannot spare much time in my hobby. But during my vacations I get myself busy with it. I have already gone to the Himchari animal sanctuary and taken a lot of pictures of wild animals. These pictures have earned much praise from my friends and family. So I have decided to attend course on wildlife photography in future. In my spare time I join the forums on wildlife photography online. Wildlife photography has always been a passion of my life and so I want precision in it. It is a source of great ecstasy and happiness for me. It gives me relieve of my regular works and studies. From my point of view, everybody must have a hobby which might provide him with new vigor to start his/her works afresh.

Life of a Rickshaw Puller
A
rickshaw puller is one who supports himself as well as his family by pulling
rickshaw. Very often he hires the rickshaw from others since he cannot manage
to buy his own rickshaw. He is quite familiar figure both in cities and towns.
In general, he lives in a slum or small cabin. He works hard from morning
till late night; nevertheless, he leads a poor life full of miseries. He is
heedless of the condition of the weather and set out for work in fair or foul
weather. At the end of the day, he comes back home with a meager amount of
money which he spends to purchase groceries for the day. But if he falls
ill, his family members are sure to fall in misery. Then all of them cannot but
starve. He can hardly enjoy peace of life. Being a poverty stricken people, he
also suffers from inferiority complex. He dare not expect a better future for
his children for the reason that he cannot afford to send them to school. His
behavior is not always gentle and polite towards his passengers. Sometimes
disputes take place between him and the passenger for fare. If the passenger
doesn’t give him the exact fare, he throws filthy and rough words to him. His
demand soars when the weather is very rough or foul. Being exhausted, he,
sometimes, dozes or sits beneath a tree. When he earns more
money, his happiness finds its expression in his face. But he looks pale in
case of his failure. Belonging to a low class community, he is actually deprived
of peace and happiness. Only kindness and sympathy will not do if we want to
change their condition. Our government, together with different NGOs, should
come forward with a helping hand and persuade them to send their children to
school in order that their next generation can lead a decent life.

A Rainy Day
A
rainy day is characterized by ceaseless rain all day long. It is a common phenomenon
in Bangladesh during the rainy season. In a rainy day, the sky remains covered
with black clouds and the sun remains concealed behind them. There is
continuous downpour of rain. The density of rain may differ from one hour to
another. Sometimes it rains heavily; sometimes it drizzles and sometimes gust
of wind blows. Very often, rain is accompanied by thunder roars, lightning
flashes and strong blows. Due to excessive rainfall, rivers, canals and tanks
swell up. Roads and cities go under water in most areas of the cities and
towns. People move along the road with umbrellas. Rickshaws are not available
let alone taxi. In case they are available they demand high fare. Buses are
much too crowed. Office goers and students suffer much on a rainy day. Those
who do not use umbrellas or raincoats get drenched. Some students still enjoy a
rainy day because classes are rarely held. They spend their time gossiping and
merry making. Poor people, especially the day laborers do not find any job.
They spend a gloomy day without any income. Even domestic animals, birds and
beasts have to bear much trouble on a rainy day. Only the rich people don’t
have to go to earn. So they enjoy such a day. People of poetic bent of mind
find inspiration on a rainy day. But most people suffer a lot. A rainy is a dismal
day without a doubt.

A Day Laborer
A
person who does any kind of manual work with the object of earning his living
is called a day laborer. The life of a day laborer is marked by extreme
adversity and hardship. His life is full of uncertainty since he is not sure of
getting any work tomorrow. Generally he is a man without any land and
property of his own. He exchanges his manual labor on the basis of daily
payment. He is assigned to different work in different fields in accordance
with his strength and ability. He gets up early in the morning and sets out in
search of work. He has to work as per the instruction of his employer and gets
his wage at the end of the day. He is absolutely dependent on his daily work.
“No work, no wages”- such is the fate of a day laborer. If he gets more work,
he earns more. When he earns more than usual, his joy knows no bounds. He and
family members can eat to their heart’s content. But difficulty arises when he
does not get any work. Then he and his family have to go without food. The life
of a day laborer is painful indeed. In spite of working hard all day long, he
only just makes his both ends meet. Sorrows and sufferings are his constant
companions. He can barely enjoy peace and pleasure. His miseries reach their
climax when he gets ill. It is true that the rich and privileged class of our
country do not estimate his services at all. It is our duty to recognize his
services as it should be and do something for him in order that he may live a
peaceful life.

Your Favorite Game
Many
of us have a special interest for games. Likewise I have a great liking for a
particular game and that is Football. I like the game for various reasons. It
is a game of great excitement both for the players and spectators. This game is
played by two parties of eleven players on each side. It is played in a large
field having a length of 110 to 120 yards long and 70 to 80 yards width. There
are two posts at each of the two opposite ends of the field. Each team places a
goal keeper before the goal post to prevent the ball from entering into the
goal post. The ball is placed at the center of the field. As soon as the
referee blows the whistle, the game begins. The game is played in compliance
with some rules. Every player must abide by the rules. Linesmen
help the referee to conduct the game. The team which scores more goals is the
winner. When each team scores a goal or equal number of goals the game ends in
a draw. Football is a great form of exercise. It is full of energy and thrill.
Like all other games, it teaches us some qualities. It teaches us to be closely
controlled and assiduous. Unlike other games, only a ball is needed to
play this game. Furthermore, the time span of football is less than few other
games. This is why I have great attraction for this game.
